Canada Day at Lougheed House

Celebrate Canada Day, July 1st, at Lougheed House in their beautiful gardens and greenspaces.

For more information visit the Lougheed House website.

At 10:30am our head gardener Marie Gattinger will give a free “Blooms of Lougheed House” tour of our gardens, followed by a gardening-focused Q&A session (admission fees apply for the Q&A portion) in our Drawing Room. Marie will discuss her extensive experience with organic gardening, selecting and caring for historical plants, as well as the recent changes in Calgary’s growing zones and the opportunities this has created.

The Restaurant at Lougheed House will have food and lemonade available for purchase, should you care to throw your own picnic beside one of our gardens.

From noon-2pm we will be renting (if you have a valid photo i.d.) outdoor lawn games such as croquet, bocce ball and badminton.

Inside the House (regular admission fees apply – $8.50 adults, $6.50 seniors & students, $5 kids 6-12, $25 family, free for kids under 6 and Cdn. military personnel with CFOne cards) you can enjoy our current exhibition; Cultivating the Landscape: A Social History of Gardening in Calgary.

House tours, led by our knowledgeable interpreters, will be held throughout the day.
