WE'RE HIRING: Beltline Community Coordinator

The Beltline Neighbourhoods Association (BNA) is seeking a motivated, self-driven individual with strong organizational skills and a community and arts focus for our Community Coordinator position. The successful candidate will work out of our office in the beautiful, historic McHugh House on Centre Street and 17 Ave South.

The role includes:

  • Continuing to grow the McHugh House as a bustling community and arts hub for the Beltline and Calgary by attracting community events, programming, and scheduling bookings.

  • Managing general inquiries to the BNA with respect to memberships, events, questions about community issues and the McHugh House.

  • Supporting our seven McHugh House tenants/partners as a contact point to make sure operations at the house are running smoothly.

  • Supporting the planning and execution of execution of BNA events including the BUMP Festival, Beltline Bonspiel, and more including live music bookings, and managing sound using the CJSW Community PK Sound System.
  • Attending BNA Board Meetings once per month.

 

Hours and Start Date

Starting 16 hours per week at $25/hr with opportunity for growth as more funding becomes available. Hours are flexible. Start date Aug 27, 2019.

About the BNA

The Beltline Neighbourhoods Association is a vibrant community association for the Beltline district in urban Calgary encompassing the neighbourhoods of West Connaught, Connaught Centre, Victoria Centre and East Victoria.

 

The Beltline Neighbourhoods Association is a grassroots organization founded by engaged residents with a history of service in their communities who wanted to build an accessible and diverse association open to all residents to get involved in making the Beltline an even better place.

  • Beltline Urban Murals Project - The 2019 BUMP Festival will see guided mural tours of the 15 new murals in the Beltline, live music, alley parties, artist talks, and outdoor cinema.
  • Beltline Bonspiel - Our annual outdoor curling tournament at the Lougheed House.
  • Beltline Neighbour Day - Beltline's own very special neighbour day at Central Memorial Park.
  • Movie in the ParkFree outdoor cinema, live music, and family-friendly beer garden at Central Memorial Park.
  • All-ages music shows at McHugh House - In partnership with CJSW, we're hosting an ongoing series of all-ages music shows at the McHugh House!
