The Green Line is the new LRT line that will run from the North down Centre Street through downtown and the Beltline, and into the Calgary’s South East.  With billions of municipal and federal dollars committed to the project, we could see construction start here next year.

A Big Win For Beltline Neighbourhoods

This is really exciting news for the Beltline, as it will better connect us with the rest of the city and provide more convenient and affordable transit for residents. But it also comes with big decisions that will affect everyone who lives here or visits our community. That’s why it’s imperative the residents of the Beltline are heard.

Big Questions Ahead

What would an elevated LRT do the street below? How does it feel to get off the train underground?  What’s it like getting out of an LRT and onto the street?  How is accessibility addressed?  How do the stations mix with the street around it?  There are lots of questions that will come up as the Green Line project moves ahead and we are excited to participate in engagement with the City of Calgary.  That’s why the Beltline Neighbourhoods Association wants your help to ask the right questions and represent your neighbourhood.
