About the Project

The City of Calgary is making changes to 12 Avenue South. Improvements to 12 Avenue South will include changes to driving lanes and extending the existing cycle track network.

Work on 12 Avenue South will be done in three phases. Work on phase one and two is expected to start this summer.

Phase one will focus on road improvements, including changes to the driving lanes along 12 Avenue South between 11 Street S.W. and 4 Street S.W. Adjustments to parking will be made to allow for smooth and predictable traffic flow.

Phase two will focus on extending the cycle track west from 11 Street S.W. to 16 Street S.W.

Phase three plans to extend the cycle track from 16 Street S.W. to the Bow River Pathway in Summer 2020.

More information about the project can be found on calgary.ca/12ave.

About this Upcoming Information Session

The City of Calgary is hosting two information sessions for the public. This is the first of the two sessions.

The City will be seeking input on how you walk, bike, and drive along 12 Avenue S.W. and present concepts to attendees for the driving lanes and the cycle track extension. Community participation will help the City refine the design for the 12 Avenue South cycle track extension from 16 Street S.W. to the Bow River Pathway.
